FAQs on Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy

It is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing made from natural fibres so that you can relax and enjoy the therapy.

While the air pressure in the pressure chamber increases during hyperbaric oxygen therapy, a feeling of fullness is felt in the ears, similar to when you fly on a plane. Just like when you are flying, you can equalise the pressure in the ear with some movements such as swallowing or yawning. If you do feel uncomfortable, one of our team is always available so the pressure can be reduced, building up more slowly or, if desired, ending the session.

You will wear a special adjustable mask to receive the oxygen. You should not find this uncomfortable, but you may find this needs adapting to, and initially, you may need to tweak the mask for optimum comfort. It is a strange, uncommon apparatus, but for optimum comfort, you should focus on relaxing whilst breathing slowly and deeply. As humans, we are adaptable, and you will see how quickly you become accustomed to the apparatus, allowing you to breathe comfortably. This superior mask attaches directly to the advanced quality-assured ventilation system built into the chamber. This is how you receive superior results alongside breathing in 95% pure oxygen and 100% Carbon Dioxide out.

You are allowed to bring limited personal items into the chamber; bottled water, a personal electronic device or a book. Please check with the health concierge on arrival for anything else that you may want to use in the chamber. Please note that any cracks in electronic device screens may cause further damage due to the increased pressure in the chamber.
If you have any concerns throughout the therapy, the therapy can be paused and there will be a member of staff on hand to assist.

There are 3 types of therapy that you can choose from. Whilst our 60 and 90-minute therapies deliver optimised results, our express 30 therapy is available to support ongoing treatment, especially when time is not on your side.

As above, our therapies are designed to meet individual needs and conditions. Biowell trained staff will consult with you and recommend the best session and personal therapy plan. Every therapy length will benefit you but if you are unsure, please contact one of our health team and they will advise. In most cases you will benefit from more than one session, so it might be worth considering our packages.

There are no restrictions on the number of treatments that you can have, but it is recommended that multiple sessions will have the greatest effect. We will take you through the guidelines before any optimum program and advise you on rest periods as well.

It is advised that ongoing regular use will help support optimisation and to maintain the benefits through treatments.
While the total number of sessions advised varies depending on the condition and optimisation target, one session per day can be applied if required.

Definitely. We advise combining therapies (bio-stacking) to advance results and greatest optimisation. We also advise that when you commence your optimisation journey with us you have Compression Therapy in the first instance to prepare the body to derive maximum benefit from each individual therapy.

Yes, there should be no problems with receiving HBOT whilst you are pregnant, but you should refer through your medical specialist.
