Cookie policy

How this fits with our privacy policy

This document covers one narrow thing: what is stored on your device when you use this website, and what causes it to be stored. Everything that happens to the information afterwards — the lawful basis for holding it, which third parties it reaches, how long it is kept and the rights you have over it — is set out in our privacy policy, and the two are written to be read together.

Biowell Health Ltd is the data controller for both, and both are governed by the same commitments. Anything you want to ask about either goes to info@biowell.health.

The short version

Nothing optional runs until you say yes. On a first visit this site sets one cookie of its own, asks you a single question, and loads no analytics, no map and no booking widget until you accept. Declining does not change what you can read, and it does not stop you booking by phone or in the clinic.

There is no advertising network on this site and no cross-site tracking pixel. We do not build a profile from what you read here, and the sharing rules in our privacy policy apply to this data exactly as they do to everything else we hold — it is not sold, and it is not used for advertising.

Strictly necessary — always on

These are set because the site cannot honour your choice without remembering it. They carry no identity, and under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations they are exempt from consent, which is why you are not asked about them.

• biowell-consent — a first-party cookie holding nothing but the answer you gave the banner, as v1:essential or v1:essential+optional. It expires after 182 days, at which point we ask again rather than assuming the old answer still stands.
• A short-lived preview cookie, set only when a member of our own team is reviewing an unpublished page. It is never set for a visitor.

Only with your consent

Everything in this group is off until you accept, and each one is a third party already named in the data-sharing section of our privacy policy. Refusing leaves the page working; you get a booking link instead of an embed.

• Google Analytics — sets _ga and ga* cookies to show us which pages help people and which do not. IP addresses are anonymised and no advertising features are enabled.
• Mindbody — the booking platform the clinic runs on, named in our privacy policy as the processor for bookings. Its widgets set their own cookies the moment they load, and Mindbody's own policies govern those rather than this one.

The clinic map

Our contact, location and about pages show an embedded Google map of the clinic. It loads for every visitor. It sets no cookies of its own, but loading it sends Google your IP address and the page you were on. Google's own privacy policy governs what it does with them.

Emails are covered too

Marketing emails we send carry a small tracking pixel that records whether the message was delivered and opened and which links were clicked. That is described in our privacy policy rather than here, because it is not stored on your device — but it is the same kind of measurement, so it belongs in the same answer.

You can stop it at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any message, or by emailing info@biowell.health.

Changing your mind

Your answer is not final. Use the control below to reopen the banner and change it; the change takes effect immediately, and declining after having accepted stops the optional scripts loading again.

Every major browser also lets you block or delete cookies for a single site from its settings or privacy menu. Blocking the consent cookie will not break the pages, but the site then has no record of your choice — so it will ask on every visit, and the booking widget will stay unloaded until you answer.
