CQC registration
Biowell is registered with the Care Quality Commission. What that means, what it changes about our terms and your information, and how to check it.

We are a regulated healthcare provider
Biowell Health Ltd — the company you contract with under our terms and conditions — is registered with the Care Quality Commission, the independent regulator of health and social care in England. We are regulated as a healthcare provider rather than as a wellness venue, and we hold ourselves to that standard, including on what we decline to treat.
What registration actually means
Registration means the regulated activities we carry out are subject to CQC's fundamental standards: care that is safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led. It means we can be inspected, that we must report certain incidents, and that a member of the public can raise a concern about us directly with the regulator.
It does not mean CQC endorses any particular therapy, and it does not turn what we offer into medical advice. Our terms are explicit on that point: what we provide sits alongside your existing medical care, and you should speak to your own clinician about a medical condition. Registration is about how care is delivered and overseen, not about whether a specific therapy works.
What it means for your appointment
Registration is why some of the paperwork exists. Every client completes a health waiver before any therapy — that is a requirement of the terms you agree to when you book, not a formality, and it is part of the record a regulated provider is expected to keep. Site safety requirements are there for the same reason.
What it means for your information
Being regulated changes who can ask us for records. Our privacy policy sets out that we may share personal information with regulators where we are required to, and CQC is one of them. That sharing is limited to what is actually required of us — everything else in the policy still applies, including that health information is never sold and is never shared for advertising.
Checking for yourself
You do not have to take our word for any of this. CQC publishes its register and its inspection reports at cqc.org.uk, searchable by provider name and by location. Our provider reference and any published inspection report will be listed there.
If you would like the registration details before you visit, ask us and we will send them.
Raising a concern
Please use our complaints procedure first, so we have the chance to put things right — it sets out the timescales we hold ourselves to and who will be handling it. You can raise a concern with the regulator at any point, and doing so does not affect your care with us.
A concern about your personal information is a different route again. That one starts with us, and if you are still unhappy it goes to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
