Intermittent Hypoxia Hyperoxia Therapy (IHHT)
Alternating low- and high-oxygen air through a mask, used to train the body's response at a cellular level. You sit still and breathe.

Overview
What Intermittent Hypoxia Hyperoxia Therapy is
IHHT alternates intervals of reduced-oxygen and oxygen-enriched air delivered through a mask. The intent is to stimulate the body's adaptive response — a controlled, measured version of what altitude does over time.
What it involves
Your session, step by step
Before you start
A passive session — most people read or rest. You may feel mildly light-headed during hypoxic intervals, which is expected and monitored.
Step 1 of 2During the session
You sit comfortably wearing a mask while the machine cycles between hypoxic and hyperoxic intervals. Oxygen saturation is monitored throughout and the protocol is adjusted to you.
Step 2 of 2
Who it is for
Who explores this
- People with persistent fatigue
- Those working on endurance and altitude readiness
- People exploring cellular and mitochondrial health

This therapy is often part of
Most people arrive with a goal rather than a therapy in mind. These are the ones this sits inside.

Energy and lifestyle optimisation
Persistent tiredness is the most common reason people come to us, and it is rarely solved by being told to sleep more.
- 8 weeks
- From £85 per session

Performance and recovery
If you are training seriously, recovery is the limiting factor. We help you get more out of the work you are already doing.
- 8 to 12 weeks
- From £85 per session

Healthy ageing
Healthy ageing is less about adding years and more about keeping the things you can do now — mobility, energy, clarity and recovery.
- 12 weeks
- From £95 per session

Brain health
Brain fog, poor focus and mental fatigue usually have physical contributors. We look for the ones we can influence.
- 8 to 12 weeks

Questions
IHHT, answered
What the evidence supports, and what it does not.
For the recovery therapies — cryotherapy, compression, red light, PEMF — your first visit includes a short induction so we can screen you and show you how the therapy works. For anything clinical, including IV drips, wellness injections, blood testing and HBOT courses, we ask for a consultation first so a clinician can check it is appropriate for you.
It depends what you are using it for. Recovery from a specific injury is often a shorter, more intensive block; general support is usually a longer, less frequent pattern. We give you an honest estimate at your induction rather than selling you a fixed package before we know your situation.
It is recommended that you wear comfortable clothing or sports clothing.
It is very simple and relaxing. You lie down on one of our comfortable beds with your own personal breathing mask, breathing the controlled air which alternates every 3-5 minutes between oxygen-rich (32-34%) and oxygen-reduced (9-17%) air.
We have many specific therapies that range in length between 25 and 40 mins.
Our therapies are expertly programmed with specific outcomes and designed to meet individual need. All you need to do is select your treatment length when booking and one of our health optimisers will help you when with us.
There are no restrictions on the number of treatments that you can have, but it is recommended that multiple sessions will have the greatest effect.
Ideally we recommend you have 2 or 3 sessions per week for 10 weeks then resting for 8 weeks before recommencing. This allows the steadily improving progression of biogenesis and fitness to level naturally before re-starting the program.
It is advised that ongoing regular use will help support optimisation and to maintain the benefits through treatments. We recommend two or three therapies per week for maximum benefit in the initial phase when not resting.
Throughout the session, a monitoring system ensures real-time control of oxygen saturation, heart rate and the exact oxygen concentration in the breathing mask.
Definitely. We advise combining therapies (bio-stacking) to advance results and greatest optimisation. IHHT is particularly beneficial when combined with Red Light Therapy. We also advise that when you commence your optimisation journey with us that you have compression therapy in the first instance to prepare the body to derive maximum benefit from each individual therapy.
In a small number of cases, you may have a mild feeling of altitude sickness or headache (it's an effect of detoxification), but this will pass quickly.
If your mitochondria are at a very low level, you may feel a little unwell, but as the therapy supports mitochondrial health this will change with each session.
If you have any serious medical conditions or if you are unsure, you should seek medical advice before booking.
