Most people arrive with a goal rather than a therapy in mind. These are the ones this sits inside.

Questions
PEMF Therapy, answered
What the evidence supports, and what it does not.
For the recovery therapies — cryotherapy, compression, red light, PEMF — your first visit includes a short induction so we can screen you and show you how the therapy works. For anything clinical, including IV drips, wellness injections, blood testing and HBOT courses, we ask for a consultation first so a clinician can check it is appropriate for you.
It varies considerably, and we try to be straight about that. Some therapies have a solid research base for specific uses; others are promising but early. We will tell you which is which for the therapies we recommend to you, and we will not overstate what the research supports.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to required areas of your body. Ideally, you should consider sports underwear to allow you to receive treatment easily.
It is also recommended that you wear moisture-absorbing clothing that helps wick away sweat to keep you comfortable during the session.
Please ensure that your clothing is clean and free of lotions, oils or other substances that may interfere with electrode adherence or conductivity.
You'll lie or rest with the applicator placed near the target area. The settings are gentle at first as your body adapts. Many feel a mild tingling, warmth or pulsing; your tissues gradually respond, with repeated sessions the effects deepen. Over days or weeks you may notice improved mobility, reduced discomfort, better sleep, enhanced energy and recovery.
Standard sessions often last 15–30 minutes; for deep or chronic issues longer durations may be used.
Most people feel none to mild tingling or warmth. The intensity can be adjusted to comfort.
There are no restrictions on the number of treatments that you can have, but it is recommended that multiple sessions will have the greatest effect.
Yes – PEMF complements many therapies (physio, massage, rehab), as well as Biowell Health therapies such as Hyperbaric Oxygen, Cryotherapy, Red Light Therapy and Compression Therapy, but we always recommend coordinating care with your practitioner.
You should not receive PEMF therapy if the following applies to you:
Implanted Electronic Devices – If you have an implanted electrical device such as a pacemaker, cochlear implant or an intrathecal pump you should not have PEMF therapy, as there is a risk that the magnetic field produced by the PEMF system can shut the device off or otherwise interfere with its function.
Organ Transplants – PEMF therapy is not advised after an organ transplant, as over-stimulation could increase the risk of rejection.
If you have any of the following conditions or if you are unsure, you should seek medical advice prior to receiving the therapy:
Neurological Conditions – Those with neurological conditions that can cause seizure (e.g. epilepsy) are advised to be cautious when using PEMF therapy. Reports of PEMF initiating a seizure are very rare, however there is the theoretical potential for this to happen.
Active Bleeding – One of the benefits of applying PEMF therapy is the increase in circulation and blood oxygenation, but for people suffering from active bleeding (e.g. after an operation), this may worsen the blood loss and reduce the ability of the blood to clot in order to heal over properly. Any source of bleeding should be fully controlled before using PEMF therapy.
Pregnancy – Caution is advised during pregnancy. Whilst there is no evidence of harm caused by using PEMFs during pregnancy, their safety has not yet been established.
It varies by symptom. Sleep is often the first thing people notice, sometimes within two to three weeks. Energy and joint comfort usually take longer, closer to six weeks. If nothing has changed by the halfway review, we would rather change the plan than carry on for the sake of finishing the course.
